Curb Appeal & Tricks to Selling Your Home Faster!

Thinking of selling your home?

In today's market, now is as good of time as any if you're trying to sell your home. After speaking with a few realtors that we work closely with in the Houston area houses are flying off the market just about as fast as they are being put on AND they are going for well over the asking prices in most cases.

That being said, if you are trying to sell your home this is probably the BEST time and we want to give you an insight from first hand experience and realtors themselves how to make your home more appealing so that it will hopefully sell faster too.

Firstly, there is the obvious home improvements you can do like changing out old fixtures and replacing them with newer modern ones i.e. light fixtures, ceiling fans, faucets, door knobs and even the knobs on your cabinets. A lot of these things you can do yourself by simply going to your local Lowe's or Home Depot. Some of these things may sound small and irrelevant, but trust me to someone looking to buy the home, these things are big and they add up.

Secondly, there are the bigger home improvements like remodeling the bathrooms, kitchen or changing the flooring in the home. These are bigger and quite a bit more expensive, however, the less someone whom is looking to buy a home has to do to it....the faster and more likely your home is to sell.

Lastly, but most importantly CURB APPEAL. On the outside looking in, you'd think the nicer the inside the better....but you'd be surprised how many people will buy a home that is beautiful on the outside and torn to pieces on the inside. Here is why, the house can be gutted and remodeled to make someone's dream home on the inside, costly but not horribly especially when you're a diy-er. However, the exterior is the exterior, this is what really catches peoples eye. Most people don't buy a home planning to re-do the exterior. Now can you re-do the exterior of a home, well yes, but like I said most home buyers aren't trying to buy a home that they are going to have to tear down and completely re-build. Those that are would just look for land to build on in that case. That's why having a nice curb appeal can really turn heads and get your home sold faster. And you will never believe it's as easy as "Giving your home a bath". Cleaning up the exterior of your home to truly showcase it's natural beauty can go a long way. You'd be surprised how many more heads will turn to look at your home when it is well kept with clean looking like freshly painted gutters, windows clear and shining day or night, driveways and walkways cleaned and welcoming along with the house gleaming vs. when your windows are filthy looking like they haven't been touched or opened for years, cobb webs everywhere, driveways and walkways are dirty covered in mud, mold, mildew or algae...gutters overflowing with stains all across them looking like they can fall down any day and the home looking grim covered in mold, mildew or algae. As much as everyone says "don't judge a book by it's cover.", we all know that the cover is what makes the book look beautiful and it's us that makes the story.

You'd be surprised what a little elbow grease, window cleaning, gutter cleaning, pressure washing and soft washing can do.

So before you go and sell your home, make sure if you're in the area you give us a call and we will gladly help you get your home gleaming again....who knows, you may even fall back in love with it once we're done.😉

Until next time,
